I obtained my Interior Design degree from Vega School of Design in Menlyn, Pretoria, and graduated in May 2023. Coming from a small town in Limpopo, I’ve often had to create my own opportunities and navigate challenges independently. After completing my studies in 2022, I was uncertain about the next steps in my professional journey. I quickly learned just how competitive and demanding the interior design industry can be for new designers.

In 2023, I started my journey as Junior Interior Designer based in Limpopo, working independently on over seven projects for clients across South Africa—from Bloubergstrand in the Western Cape to Mookgopong and Mokopane in Limpopo. My work spanned client consultations, site analyses, concept development, floor plan layouts, 3D modeling, rendering, technical drawings, and both remote and on-site collaboration. This experience sharpened my skills in communication, time management, client relations, and the ability to navigate real-world design challenges with resilience and adaptability.

In 2024, I expanded my expertise into high-end retail design and visual merchandising through upcoming roles with established furniture retailers like Cielo Lifestyle and later on Sotran Dekorativ (2025). These opportunities marked an exciting step forward as I grow my design perspective through brand-focused, customer-centric environments within the retail design industry.

I believe that applying and evolving what I’ve learned—and channeling it back into the communities and environments I move through—is essential for meaningful design. For me, design is not just about aesthetics, but also about sustainability, user well-being, and contributing to positive social upliftment.
